Illegal Downloading at UCI Update

So in my previous post, here, I talked about how NACS would track who would be downloading things illegally on campus. I thought that they wouldn’t be able to catch me, since the people who I know that downloaded stuff have never been caught.
Unfortunately I have been caught. Yesterday evening, I received an e-mail from a Security Analyst at NACS. According to the NACS Team, I have been having a lot of traffic going on with my ucinet ID lately. Looks like they do actually check. It’s time I stop downloading on campus.
I have been caught and received this e-mail:
You are being contacted because a computer registered to your UCInetID
has shown up on the UCInet Mobile Access network using a peer-to-peer
(p2p) application. Peer-to-peer applications are typically used for
music, video, or file sharing and radio, video, or television streaming.
Because the UCInet Mobile Access network is a shared network, users on
it share bandwidth. This means that everyone is drinking from the same
straw; if you transfer large amounts of data, you are making the network
much slower for everyone else. *For this reason, use of p2p applications
on the wireless network is barred.*
The system in question transferred approximately 5 gigabytes over the
network. There is a 1 gigabyte limit for personal use on UCInet.
To restore your access to the UCInet Mobile Access network, please reply
to this email and certify your understanding of our UCInet and wireless
guidelines.
